MIMI is Abuelita to some and Nana to others. She is ageless, but old; sweet as guayaba, but sour as a pickle. She has judgemental eyes, deep wrinkles in her hands, and her hair is as white and fluffy as a cloud. The shady lady who never really says what she means to your face, but you know she hates everything. You can always count on her to fill you in on the latest chisme from el barrio though. Que Dios te Bendiga is her favorite tagline and she actually hasn’t even been to church in about 45 years. She will hand wash and hang dry all her laundry, but she’s too lazy to make espumita for your cafecito. We complain about Mimi, but we love Mimi.
